Several years after I had moved to Arizona, the state  endured one of the wettest winters and worst flooding on record.

 

The result of which was some of the most amazing displays of spring bloom in the desert that I have  ever seen. In my naievite, I believed that every spring would be equally as spectacular and was committed to being ready to photogaraph the desert bloom the next spring. My asumption about an annual, identical bloom was wrong.

 

The beauty and mystery of a landscape photograph result when chance, weather, patience and preparation converge. Each occasion results in a truly original work.
